Ilayaraja
He debuted as a composer in 1976 with Annakili and has written something north of seven thousand songs since, which is a number that stops meaning anything once you say it out loud. Easier to think of it this way: if you grew up in a Tamil or Telugu household anywhere in the world, his music was in the room whether you chose it or not. These are my frames his concert in San Jose, September 2016.
Katrina Kaif
Katrina is one of Bollywood's biggest stars, and it's easy to see why. She's got the looks, the grace, and this playful energy that makes her a natural in front of the camera. She knows how to own the moment.
Prabhu Deva
I grew up watching Prabhu Deva, the Michael Jackson of India. Especially the song "Chikku Bukku Raile". They used to call him "rubber" for his insane flexibility, and seeing him dance in person was surreal. Even at this age, he was moving effortlessly just like in the movies.
